Transferring a .nl domain to WebOké
You transfer a .nl domain to WebOké yourself. You'll need the transfer code for this, also called a token or EPP code. You request this from your current provider. A .nl transfer code is 12 characters.
- Go to the menu on our website to Domains and click on Transfer your domain. Type in your domain name and add the domain as a transfer to your shopping cart. If you're also ordering a hosting package, choose Transfer a domain in the order pop-up.
- Enter the transfer code and complete your order.
- Don't have the code yet, or is your website still running with your old provider? Then choose Transfer later. You can then start the transfer yourself later in My WebOké via My Domains > Transfer centre: enter the code there and click on (Re)start transfer.
Good to know
- With a valid code, a .nl transfer is completed immediately at SIDN. In My Domains, the domain may still show as a transfer for up to an hour afterwards; that's normal.
- You don't need permission from your old provider. Only cancel the domain there once the transfer is complete, otherwise it may end up in quarantine.
- During the transfer, we extend your domain by one year from the transfer date.
- Your website and email don't move automatically. Preferably only transfer the domain once your website and email are set up at WebOké.
